Mathematica 8 Home Edition for $239 in June 2011

While doing a search for Mathematica, I noticed this Google ad.

Wolfram Research is offering Mathematica 8 Home Edition, for Windows, Mac, or Linux, for $239 through June 30, 2011 from Amazon.com. I assume this is for the U.S. Market only. Mathematica 8 Home Edition normally sells for $295 so the savings is nearly 20%. Wolfram Research does have a less expensive version of Mathematica for academic customers so if you’re a student check the Wolfram site for a student version.

In case you were wondering …

Mathematica Home Edition is intended for hobbyists and enthusiasts; it includes the full functionality of the Professional Edition but is not licensed for commercial, nonprofit, academic, or government use.

The seller, for all three platforms, is Wolfram Research.

No, I’m not being paid in any way to announce the discount. To be extra clear that I’m not getting a commission on sales I’m not even providing a link. Go to Amazon.com and search for “Wolfram Mathematica 8 Home Edition” (with the quotes) and you’ll see the discount.
